This week we talked about big question. The big question I chose was “Does strength create image.” I think there a different types of strength. You got mental, emotional, and physical strength, and all are equally important. We also started to read 10 Little Indians. You could choose between four different passages, the homeless man, the basketball player, the business man, and one more. I chose the passage about the guy going on business trips. We got a note sheet which we were suppose to take notes on and I pretty much filled the page. These note sheets help you funnel and organize the information you read so you can use it later. I have finished my outside book to read and need to begin the one pager. Other than stuff for our big question we just did some creative writing and that was about it.
This week we finished up our Where Are We From poems and we presented them on tuesday. I wasn't here so I didn't get to present but I felt like my poem was very good. On Wednesday we did something called connotation clusters where you would pick out a word then you would have to find other words or meaning that are similar to the word you picked out. From here we developed different questions using two ;words we picked out from our clusters. The questions were suppose to be very thoughtful and make you want to find out the answer.
We presented our big question projects this week. This project was especially difficult because it made us think outside the box and really think about something we believe in. Our big question was suppose to be something we really care to figure out why. My big question is does strength create image. There are different kinds of strengths so that also added something extra to my project. Along with this project we also talked about shared leadership. There are different kinds of shared leadership. We talked about why something is the way it is and how we can go about changing that. At the end of the week we started to talk about our senior project. Eric Pendred, Kyle Trucks, and myself are in a group. We are going to do a 3-point fund raiser during miles for miracles. We are going to charge people $5 to compete against CMU basketball players in a 3-point contest. The winner gets an autographed ball by the players.
This week we made our weebly accounts with all the different tabs to go in it. We had a sub for four out of the five days so we didn't get to really start much of anything. We watched a ted talk and read poems out loud. Also we watched someone read a poem out loud with music playing in the background on youtube. Next week we will be able to start talking about our senior projects. I still have no idea what I am going to do for it, but I was thinking about doing a 3 vs 3 basketball tournament or doing something to help around the community.
